What Can I Do?

Sometimes I feel as though I may burst!  The problem is so huge and I am just one person… what can I do?  I believe the answer is, plenty.  I can do what I can do, what God empowers me to do.  As long as I make myself available to do His will.

The most important thing that each of us can do is PRAY.  Pray hard.  Pray often.  Right now especially, pray for Barack Obama.  He has made his position and intentions regarding abortion clear (see: POLITICS).  We must accept the fact that he is our President.  The Freedom of Choice Act (see: FOCA) is frightening.  In short, if enacted as President Obama has promised to promote, it would remove all current restrictions on abortions.  No more parental notifications.  No more waiting periods.  No more local restrictions allowed.  Partial Birth Abortion legal again.  Planned Parenthood is thrilled about this possibility.  Think of how this could affect their business.  Follow the money.  Please… everyone pray that our nation never enacts this law.  Pray against FOCA.  Implore our Lord… Petition the Lord with Prayer.  He listens. (Read Luke 18:1-8)

Another thing that we can do as individuals is play our part in the democratic process.  Actually, we live in a democratic republic.  Meaning that we do not actually have a direct voice on each and every issue, but we have representation in the process.  Congressmen and Senators.  At the state and federal level.  They need your vote.  They will listen to your voice.  So we all need to get busy.  Write, email, call, stop in and visit, your state and local representatives, your congressman, and both of your state senators in Washington D.C.  Let them know how you feel.  Let them know how you vote.  Let them know that FOCA is not acceptable!  I have written a letter that you may feel free to copy.  Fill in the blanks for the name of your favorite politician.  Let us make our voices heard… loud and clear.  CLICK for your copy of the letter, or write something personal for yourself.  Just get involved.  If you do not know who your local political contacts are, click HERE.

Let’s get busy, people.  I am just one person.  If I can change just one heart.  If I can change just one vote.  If I can save just one life.  Wouldn't it be worth the effort?

Each one of us is just one person.  But a whole lot of just one person’s, working together, acting with one voice, can make a pretty loud call to action.

Finally, I can be a living example of life in Christ.  I can allow the Holy Spirit to let the love of Christ shine through my presence.  And, a few bumper stickers on my car, and an Icon or two on my desk at work won't hurt either.

May God Bless the Pro-Life movement, and God Bless America.
